  • FARS believes that no individual should suffer from addiction due to ignorance, stigma, and or fear.
  • FARS believes in the individual's right to find recovery unconstrained by barriers created by language, ignorance, discrimination, culture and or fear.
  • FARS believes anyone affected by addiction has a right to be aware of relevant drug services and treatments.
  • FARS believes in the disease model of addiction as a lifelong condition characterized by combinations of genetic, biological, environmental, sociological and psychological entities.
  • FARS believes in a holistic approach for the treatment of addiction where the knowledge and the support of family and community are indispensable.
  • FARS believes its services must be culturally sensitive and congruent with the religion, culture and languages of its target communities.
  • FARS believes in empowering its service users through information, awareness, education, support and training.
  • FARS believes that given appropriate treatment, knowledge and support, every individual has the ability to recover from addiction.
  • FARS believes in sharing its experiences to promote further development of culturally sensitive substance misuse policies and services in UK.
